I love your artwork. Especially the Obama drawing

I agree with metlina try to choose a pic with good contrast so you can work on you shading. Attention to the little details will make your portraits that mucg better. For me the Eyes are the most importrant when i am doing my portraits, they are the first thing i look at when i see another portrait. If you can get really good depth to the eyes and get them right, you portraits should come together. hope this helps.

Not bad, but you should play with the shades and highlights more Try something more contrasted at first, instead of usual photos... I can recommend you a couple of good tutorials that helped me a lot at my beginnings, maybe they'll help you, too
